The Indian rupee depreciated by 13 paise to 44.82 rupees against the US dollar today. At the Interbank Foreign Exchange, the rupee opened lower at 44.76 per dollar as against the previous closing level of 44.70 per dollar. Forex dealers said that the strengthening of the dollar against major currencies overseas and a lower opening in the stock market mainly put pressure on the rupee.
