The Indian rupee depreciated by 12 paise to 45 rupees 11 paise against the US dollar in early trade today. Forex dealers said dollar strength against the euro and other Asian currencies overseas mainly put pressure on the rupee. On Friday, the local currency weakened by 4 paise to close at 45.00 rupees against the US currency on sustained dollar demand from importers.
