Moving in line with the equity market, the rupee depreciated by 31 paise to 49 rupees 81 paise against the US dollar during mid-session, on persistent dollar demand from importers. In the previous session on Friday, the domestic currency had lost 29 paise to close at three-week low of 49 rupees 51 paise against the US currency.
