Indian rupee today depreciated by 21 paise to 44.65 rupees against the US dollar in early trade. It had closed 9 paise lower at 44.44 rupees against the greenback in the previous session Forex dealers said dollar's gain against other major currencies and weak opening on the stock markets weighed on the rupee.
