The Indian rupee depreciated by 19 paise to 51.90 per US dollar in early trade on the Interbank Foreign Exchange today. It closed at 51.71 rupees against the greenback yesterday. Dealers said fall in rupee is due to appreciation of the American currency against other rivals overseas and a weak opening in the domestic equity market.
