In the Forex market, the Rupee strengthened eight paise to close at 82 rupees and 16 paise against the US currency.
 
The dollar index, which indicates the US currency's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, fell  0.14 percent to trade at 101.83 in intra-day trade.
