The rupee gained 6 paise to trade at 52.89 rupees against dollar today, as the US currency weakened in the overseas markets. Dealers said dollar selling by exporters boosted the rupee sentiment. The local currency gained 26 paise to close at more than a week's high of 52.95 rupees against the dollar yesterday.
