The rupee today appreciated by 4 paise to 46.62 a dollar in early trade. Dealers said the rupee strengthened against the US currency after fresh capital inflows by foreign funds into equities and gains in other Asian currencies against the dollar. The domestic currency had closed 20 paise higher at 46.66 in the previous session on Friday.
