The Indian rupee appreciated by 1 paise to 46.57 a dollar in early trade today on the back of fresh capital inflows by foreign funds. The domestic currency had closed 14 paise lower at 46.59 in yesterday's session. Forex dealers said the rupee strengthened against the US currency largely on fresh capital inflows by foreign funds into equities and gains in the Euro and Asian currencies against the dollar.
