The Indian rupee appreciated by 16 paise to 45 Rupees 90 paise against the US dollar in early trade on Tuesday on persistent selling of the American currency by banks and exporters in view of dollar weakness in overseas market. The domestic currency, which ended 9 paise higher at 46.07 rupees on Monday, moved in a range between 45.90 and 46.05 rupees per dollar in morning deals.
