The Indian rupee appreciated by 1 paise to 46.79 rupees a dollar in early trade today, on the back of fresh capital inflows by foreign funds. The domestic currency had closed 26 paise higher at Rs 46.81 in the yesterday's session on strong rally in equities amid sluggish dollar overseas.
