In the Forex market, the Rupee today appreciated 15 paise against the US dollar as a firm trend in domestic equities and easing crude oil prices boosted investor sentiments. The domestic unit closed at 81 rupees and 91 paise against the American currency.
 
The dollar index, which indicates the US currency's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, fell 0.19 percent to trade at 101.62 in intra-day trade.
