The rupee today appreciated 15 paise per US dollar. The domestic currency was trading at 74 rupees and 43 paise against the dollar.

The dollar index, which indicates the US dollar's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, fell 0.14 percent to trade at 95.6 in intra-day trade.
