The Indian rupee appreciated by 13 paise to 45.55 rupees against the US dollar in early trade today. It had closed at 45.68 rupees in the previous session on Friday. Dealers said in addition to dollar weakness against other Asian currencies overseas, a higher opening in the stock market supported the rupee sentiment today.
