The governing Socialist Party has been re-elected in Portugal but has lost its overall majority. Final results in Sunday's general election gave the Prime Minister Jose Socrates 36 per cent of the votes, seven points ahead of the centre-right Social Democrats. The election campaign was dominated by disagreement over how to deal with Portugal's economic crisis.<br/>
