Ruling NPP and its ally UDP share highest number of seats in JHADC elections

<span style="color: #222222;">The ruling National People's Party ,NPP and its ally United Democratic Party, UDP shared the highest number of seats in the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) elections while Opposition party Indian National Congress, INC wins the maximum number of seats in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) elections  after counting concluded today.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In JHADC, NPP secured 12 seats, UDP 10 seats and the INC secured four seats. Three independent candidates also won in JHADC.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In KHADC, INC won 10 seats while NPP secured seven seats and UDP came close to its ally with six seats. Regional party Hill State People's Democratic Party (HSPDP) got two seats and People's Democratic Front (PDF) secured one seat while three independent candidates emerged victorious.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The polling for the two district councils which was held on 27 February saw 130 candidates contesting for the 29 seats in KHADC and 101 candidates in the fray for the 29 seats in JHADC.</span>
