Ruling NDP wins landslide in Egypt polls

In Egypt, the ruling National Democratic Party ( NDP) has won parliamentary elections in the country. According to results, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's party won 420 of 508 seats in parliamentary polls. The opposition candidates won 14 seats, after most of the opposition boycotted second round of the polls, while independents garnered 70 seats. The opposition has alleged that the vote was marred by irregularities.The results left the most powerful opposition force in the outgoing parliament, the Brotherhood without any MPs in the new assembly.
