Ruling DMK candidates lead over AIADMK in Tamil Nadu bypolls

In Tamil Nadu, the ruling DMK candidates have established a clear lead over their nearest rivals from the AIADMK in the by-elections to Tiruchendur and Vandavasi assembly constituencies.<br/><br/>In Tiruchendur constituency at the end of the fourth round, DMK candidate Anitha Radhakrishnan is leading by over 12,000 votes over his rival from the AIADMK. In Vandavasi, Kamalakannan of the DMK had established leading by over 10,000 votes. Our correspondent reports that for the first time live recording of the counting process is being done in the two constituencies. The process is being viewed online in the video conferencing hall of he NIC at the secretariat in Chennai. The Election commission in an attempt to ensure greater transparency in the counting process, has also introduced a new system by which one round of counting will be taken up only after displaying on a board the results of the previous round.<br/><br/><br/>
