In Punjab, ruling Shiromani Akali Dal has decided to expel former Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal from primary membership of party for his anti party activities. Party spokesman Daljit Singh Cheema said in a press note at Chandigarh that this decision has been taken on the recommendations of the disciplinary action committee of the party. Earlier during the day disciplinary action committee had recommended the action against Manpreet Singh as he had not appeared before the committee on Wednesday to present his opinion on the show cause notice issued to him by the party.
