The Rajya Sabha today witnessed a noisy scene in the opening hours of discussion over the death of infant babies in the ICU of government hospital in Dharampuri of Tamil Nadu. Raising the issue DMK member Kanimozhi said that 16 babies died due to medical negligence.

Opposing this AIADMK members shouted vigorously and said that the DMK member is misleading the House over the issue. AIADMK member Dr. V. Maitreyan demanded action against the member for giving false figures of death. Kanimozhi also appealed to the Health Minister to securing better maternal and infant care all over the country.
