Opposition members from Congress, TMC and Aam Adami Party today protested in the Lok Sabha on alleged derogatory remarks against opposition parties made by Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti. As soon as house met, the opposition members raised the issue seeking adjournment of question hours. The Speaker Sumitra Mahajan disallowed the motion quoting the rules.

Intervening , Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu said that no discussion can be allowed on the basis of media reports. He said the government is ready to discuss any issues at any time decided by the chair. Expressing their dissatisfaction the members trooped into the well raising slogans and waving newspaper clippings. Mrs. Mahajan tried to conduct the question hour amidst din. She adjourned the House as noisy scene continued.
