In Kerala, a report submitted by the Director General of Police in the Kerala High Court has listed the names of 607 police officials belonging to various ranks facing criminal cases. The list includes police officials ranging from IG to constable. Of these, 36 police officials are facing CBI cases, 29 vigilance cases, while seven are facing cases relating to excise and forests. Thiruvananthapuram district tops the list with 118 police officials, while Wynad has the lowest at 12.The report was based on the information provided by the police top brass in various districts and came to light following an application made under the Right to Information Act moved by D B Binu, a Kochi based lawyer.
