Public Calls Research Foundation (PCRF), an organisation, has alleged that the Information Commissioners across the country have caused a loss of 86 crore rupees during 2009-10 by not imposing penalties for delay in providing information sought under Right to Information (RTI). The Magsaysay Award winner Arvind Kejriwal, Director PCRF, who is spearheading the RTI campaign, has said that there are several more grounds provided in RTI Act for which penalties are to be imposed and the loss would be much higher if these are taken into account. Mr. Kejriwal said that they will approach Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) in this regard.
