The RSS appears to be directly interfering in the affairs of its political arm, the BJP. The RSS spokesman Ram Madhav said in New Delhi yesterday that the Sangh had decided that senior BJP leader Mr. L. K Advani will retire from politics in February next year. Mr.Advani is presently holding the important post of the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha. RSS Chief Mohan Bagwat has already made it clear that "the new BJP President will be from outside Delhi." The present BJP President Mr. Rajnath Singh completes his term in December this year.The present stand of the RSS is contrary to its earlier policy of not making any direct announcements about changes in the BJP.
