RSS, BJP regret derogatory remarks against Sonia

Under attack from the Congress, the RSS and the BJP today expressed regret over the derogatory remarks made against Sonia Gandhi by its former chief K S Sudarshan. Both described the remarks as unfortunate.The RSS, which had yesterday distanced itself from the controversial comments of Sudarshan, today went a step further by issuing a statement expressing regret.Sangh leader Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi said as the Joint General Secretary of RSS, he expresses his heartfelt deep regrets over the alleged comments of Sudarshan, which had hurt the sentiments.Party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said RSS has clarified its stand and BJP's views are the same as expressed by RSS on this issue.Earlier, Cong activists have protested former RSS Chief Sudarshan's anti-Sonia Gandhi remarks at several parts of the country. Protests were held in Bhopal, Nashik, Kolkata, Patna, Chennai,Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and other places.A large number of workers of Congress party today expressed their anger against former Chief of Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh K. Sudarshan for making derogatory remarks against UPA Chairperson and AICC President Sonia Gandhi by burning his effigy at the crossing of Civil Hospital in Ambala City.
