Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill will come up for discussion in Rajya Sabha today. Lok Sabha passed the bill on Tuesday. The Bill could not be taken up by Rajya Sabha yesterday due to protests.
Textiles Minister K S Rao raised the Telangana issue and questioned the basis on which government was going ahead with the bifurcation of the state. Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien raised an objection and stated that the minister could not raise the issue as the House had not taken up the bill yet. Dr Kurien adjourned the House as the minister continued to obstruct the proceedings on the issue.
