RS returns Appropriation Bill 2010

The Rajya Sabha today returned the Appropriation Bill 2010 to authorise payment of certain sums from and out of the Consolidated Fund of India. <br/><br/>Winding up the debate on the bill, the Minister of State, Namo Narayan Meena strongly refuted the opposition charge that the proposed budget was against the common man. <br/><br/>He said that 71,000 crore rupees debt waiver for the farmers, the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, NREGA and several other programmes of the government are targeting the common man. <br/><br/>Earlier, initiating the discussion the BJP accused the government of misusing the CBI. He also charged the government with failure to control prices of essential commodities. <br/><br/>The ruling party members highlighted various welfare schemes of the government saying that they are focussed to help the common man.
