RS resumes discussion on motion of thanks to President's address to Parliament

Rajya Sabha today resumed discussion on the motion of thanks to President's address to a joint sitting of Parliament. Sitaram Yechuri of CPIM said, there were several serious omissions in the address like the unrest in higher educational institutions, incidence of religious intolerance. Yechuri said, the government is subsidizing the rich while taxing the common man. D. Raja of CPI attacked the ruling party for creating communal division and trying to suppress voices of dissent. He criticized BJP's theory of nationalism.<br/><br/>Intervening in the discussion, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, while the government wants to keep the country intact, opposition was joining hands with divisive forces, raising anti-national bogey. Naqvi said, Narendra Modi government is committed to development of the country, and anti-nationals cannot be tolerated. The discussion is continuing.
