Rajya Sabha today passed Tamil Nadu Legislative Council Bill 2010 which will provide the creation of a Legislative Council which was abolished in 1986. Replying the debate on the bill, Law Minister, Mr. Veerappa Moily assured that the Centre is open for considering the requests of other states for reviving of the Upper House. Earlier, AIADMK members protested against the introduction of the bill. Its leader, V. Maitreyan said that out of 28 states in the country, only six have Legislative Council. He said, there is no need for Tamil Nadu to seek revival of such a Legislative Council in the state.<br/>
