Several opposition members in the Rajya Sabha today demanded the Government to work out a mechanism for hiking their pay and perks. Raising the issue during zero hour, Naresh Agarwal of Samajwadi Party contended that there is a false notion in the media and also among the people, that the MPs are getting huge pay and perks which is not true. <br/><br/>He said the MPs are being subjected to so much ignominy. Mr. Agarwal, referring to Yogi Adityanath Committee's Report on the issue, urged the Government either to concur with the recommendations of the Parliamentary Committee or come out with other alternative in hiking MPs' salaries.
