The Rajya Sabha was adjourned twice till 2 PM today following uproar by the opposition Congress over Lalit Modi controversy. The Government has taken exception to the manner in which the opposition members continuously obstructing the proceedings. <br/><br/>The opposition members also strongly objected to the reported comments made by industrialists on the Parliamentary functioning. As the House reassembled at noon, Leader of the Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed concern over interference of industrialists. <br/><br/>Criticising media for its reports highlighting Members of Parliament in a bad light, Mr Azad said such things are lowering the dignity of Parliament. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Muktar Abbas Naqui said the behaviour of opposition members in stalling the proceedings is doing more damage to the dignity of Parliament. <br/><br/>Sitaram Yechury of the CPI (M) said the Government should agree for a discussion on Lalit Modi issue along with the provision of voting. At this juncture, ignoring the repeated appeals by Chairman Mohammad Hamid Ansari the agitating Congress members trooped into the well of the House forcing its adjournment till 2 PM.
