The Ethics Committee of Rajya Sabha will meet this evening to discuss the matters related to its member and industrialist Vijay Mallya.<br/><br/>The Committee will deliberate on the alleged unethical behaviour of Mallya as he had left the country following the tightening grip of probe agencies to recover unpaid debts to banks. He represents Karnataka in the House as an Independent MP.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that the committee examines cases concerning the alleged breach of the Code of Conduct by members and also cases concerning allegations of any other ethical misconduct. <br/><br/>If a member is found to have indulged in unethical behaviour or misconduct, the Committee may recommend censure, reprimand and suspension of the MP from the House for a specific period. The government has already revoked the passport of the liquor baron to ensure his return to the country.
