The Rajya Sabha today congratulated the space scientists on the successful launch of the Radar Imaging Satellite-One (RISAT-1) early this morning.

Making an announcement in the House, the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. V Narayanasamy said RISAT-1 is India’s first indigenously developed Radar Imaging Satellite and is the heaviest satellite launched till date.

He said this will enable applications in agriculture and management of natural disasters like floods and cyclones.
