In Bihar biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha became imminent on Monday with the filling of nomination papers by an Independent candidate Ahmad Ashfaqu Karim. Mr. Karim has the backing of the main opposition RJD and LJP. Six NDA nominees 4 of JD ( U) and 2 of BJP have also filled their nominations. Ali Anwar, Anil Sahani, Mahendra Prasad and Vasishta Narayan singh of Janata Dal (United) have filled their papers apart from Ravi Shankar Prasad and Dharmenra Pradhan of the BJP.
