The Rajya Sabha has been adjourned till noon after its first adjournment of 15 minutes over various issues. SP and BSP members were demanding inclusion of 16 castes in Scheduled Caste category in Uttar Pradesh. BJP members tried to raise the issue of missing files on coal block allocations.
As soon as the House reassembled after its first adjournment, BSP and SP members trooped into the well in support of their demand. Two TDP members were also seen in the well, raising slogans for United Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, some of the Congress members, holding placards, demanded dismissal of the Narendra Modi government following revelations by a senior police officer for Gujarat government’s complicity in fake encounters post-Godhra riots. Amidst uproarious scenes, Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari adjourned the House till noon as his repeated requests for normalcy were not heeded to by the agitating members.
However, the Lok Sabha is functioning normally and taking up matters of public importance.
Meanwhile 4 suspended Telugu Desam Party, TDP members from the Lok Sabha, are on a dharna in front of the main gate of Parliament House. They were suspended from the House along with five members of Congress till Friday on Monday. Two TDP members were forcefully evicted by the marshal from the House on Monday night TDP members are demanding united Andhra Pradesh.
