The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 12 noon as members belonging to Congress, JD(U) and SP demanded a statement by the Prime Minister over yesterday's lathi charge on UPSC aspirants in Delhi. Earlier the house was adjourned on the same issue for 15 minutes.

Earlier, the House also observed a two minutes silence as a mark of respect for the school children who died in yesterday’s Train-Bus collision at an unmanned railway crossing in Medak district of Telangana.

When the House met again, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar informed that at 12'o clock, an announcement would be made on this.
