The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the second time till 3 PM amidst noisy scenes with the opposition members demanding that the Finance Minister Mr Pranab Mukherjee clarify the Aicel-Maxis telecom deal. As soon as the House reassembled at 1435 hours after its first adjournment on the issue, entire opposition stood up to demand that the Finance Minister is the legitimate person to throw light on the papers relating to the Aircel-Maxis deal.

The assurance by the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Mr Rajiv Shukla that he will find out a convenient time of the Finance Minister, did not satisfy the agitating members. As the din continued, the Vice Chairman, Prof. P J Kurien adjourned the House till 3 PM.
