The Rajya Sabha has been adjourned for the second time till 2 pm on the Telangana issue. As soon as the House reassembled after an hour long first adjournment, Congress and TDP members belonging to Seemandhra and Telangana regions of Andhra Pradesh rushed to the well, raising slogans and showing placards.
Meanwhile, TDP member C M Ramesh
tried to snatch a copy of a message being read out by Secretary General Shumsher K Sheriff. It was received from the Lok Sabha. Samajwadi Party members, who also rushed to the well, protesting against the manner in which the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha yesterday.
Deputy Chairman Prof. P.J. Kurien rejected the demand for discussing any matter dealt by the other House. He adjourned the House amid noisy scenes.
The Lok Sabha which re-assembled at noon after an hour-long adjournment, has taken up matters of public importance.
