The Rajya Sabha today adjourned for 15 minutes soon after it met this morning following uproar by opposition Congress members.

They demanded a statement from the Government over the alleged meeting of an Indian former journalist, Ved Praksah Vaidik with the leader of a terror outfit in Pakistan.

Stating that the matter is relating with the security of the country, the opposition members asked for an immediate statement from the Government.

Chairman Hamid Ansari asked the members to give a proper notice to raise the issue in the house.

As the repeated requests went unheeding, the Chairman adjourned the house for 15 minutes. Some Congress members from Telangana also displayed placards protesting the merger of few villages from their state in the Andhra Pradesh.
