Sports Ministry has sanctioned about Rs 8 crore for imparting customized training to elite sportspersons who are medal prospects in the forthcoming London Olympics- 2012 and other international events.According to an official release, the fund has been sanctioned from National Sports Development Fund, NSDF, to 45 sportspersons and 12 coaches under the Operation Excellence 2012.Out of this, over Rs 4 crore have already been released to the sportspersons for the purpose. The NSDF assistance in all these cases has been processed after the approval of the Steering Committee for Operation Excellence.
