Rs. 41.6 crore spent on development projects in Poonch

In Jammu and Kashmir, an amount of Rs. 41.6 crore from the District Plan fund has been spent for development works in Poonch district so far. AIR correspondent reports, the spent amount aggregates to be 58 per cent of the Annual District Development Plan of Rs. 71.6 crore for the current fiscal year Plan.AIR correspondent Yogesh Sharma reports from Jammu that “In a meeting held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Poonch, it was informed that in order to ensure employment to unskilled rural youth under MGNREGA, about 460 developmental works have been completed in the rural areas with an expenditure of about Rs. 9 crore, generating about 5 lakh mandays. The Rural Development Department has a target to construct 3800 works during the year with an allocation of Rs. 37 crore. The meeting apprised that upto ending November this year, 180 damaged transformers of various capacities were got repaired and improved to provide better power supply to consumers of this border district”.
