Rs 350 cr spent under PMGSY in J & K

<br/>In Jammu and Kashmir an amount of Rs. 350 crore have been spent on various projects under Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) during the current financial year as against, Rs 342 crore spent from 2002 to 2008. This was stated by J&K Minister for Roads and Buildings G. M. Saroori while giving details of progress of ongoing road projects in the state. Referring to the pace of work on the famous Mughal road, an alternate road linkbetween Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Saroori said that the prestigious Mughal Road will be thrown open partially for the controlled vehicular traffic in mid 2010. He said a proposal for construction of a tunnel at Pir-ki-Gali on Mughal road has been sent to the Central Government for approval to ensure round the year opening of this historical inter-state link road, coming up at a cost of Rs. 639 crore.
