<span style="color: #222222;">Bihar government has informed National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) that it has paid 3 to 9 lakh rupees to the 49 victims of sexual abuse in a Shelter Home at Muzaffarpur. The Commission had registered the case on the basis of a complaint in the matter dated 29th November 2018. Besides the Commission, Trial Court Saket, New Delhi had also recommended compensation to the victims on merits. The Trial Court had convicted 19 out of the 20 accused against whom a charge sheet had been filed.<br />''<br />''NHRC has also been informed that registration of the NGO that ran the Muzaffarpur Balika Grah was cancelled and the premise housing was demolished in compliance with court orders. NHRC said that the entire investigation of the case was monitored by the Supreme Court and the trial by the trial court was concluded within a stipulated period.</span>
