The Tourism Minister in Karnataka Janardhan Reddy informed in Legislative Assembly during question hour today that Rs.200 crore is spent to begin night safari in Bannerghatta National Park near Bangalore. This is for the first time in the Country that a night safari is being started. He disclosed that world over only five other countries have this facility. He further informed that Rs.9615 lakh was released out of sanctioned amount of Rs.9840 lakh during 2009-10 for infrastructure development in tourist destination. The minister said that thirteen thousand 559 lakh has been provided for infrastructure facilities in the current financial year. He said that the Government has increased allocation to tourism from Rs.15 crore before 2008 to Rs.250 crore this year.
