Rs 1400 crore Sikkim Annual Plan for 2011-12 finalized

An Annual Plan outlay of 1400 crore rupees was finalized for Sikkim for the year 2011-12 . This was decided at a meeting between Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Chief Minister of Sikkim, Pawan Chamling in New Delhi today. In his comments on the performance of the State, Deputy Chairman said performance is quite satisfactory. Appreciable efforts are being made to improve horticulture and ginger production. Mr. Ahluwalia said the State should embark upon a path of sustainable economic development by concentrating upon its abundant Natural Resources.
