RPP, RJP merge to form new party

In Nepal, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) led by Pashupati Shumsher Rana and Rastriya Janashakti Party (RJP) led by Surya Bahadur Thapa have merged to form a new party – Rastriya Shakti Prajatantra Party (RSPP).<br/><br/> The two parties announced their merger at a joint press conference in Kathamdu today in the presence of both the parties' chairmen.<br/><br/> Party sources said, a committee has been formed to oversee the strengthening of the new party at the grass root level and hold a new general convention within a year to elect the new party leadership. Till then the RPP Chairman Pashupati Shumsher Rana and RJP Chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa would to lead the new party on rotational basis.
