RPI (Athawale) delegation meets Maharashtra Governor at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai

A delegation of RPI (Athawale) met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai yesterday. The delegation demanded imposition of President's Rule in the state in view of the recent allegations against police officers and ministers. The delegation led by Avinash Mahatekar informed the Governor that the public has lost faith in the government and the law and order situation is in total disarray.<br />'' <br />''Meanwhile a Mumbai based lawyer has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court, seeking a CBI probe into the extortion allegations made by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. In the plea, Dr. Jaishri Laxmanrao Patil has alleged that Deshmukh is not trustworthy to hold the position of Home Minister of State as he was abusing powers by instructing police officers to extort money from common citizens and business persons.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">A similar plea has also been filed by Hemant Baburao Patil seeking direction to file an FIR against the Singh, Deshmukh and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray alleging offences under Section 166 that deal with public servant disobeying law, with an intent to cause injury to any person.</span><br />
