Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel will not check tickets of passengers. <br/><br/>Director General of RPF, Dharmendra Kumar has written a letter to all zonal railways in this regard. <br/><br/>As per Railway Act, ticket checking and levy of excess charge are to be done only by ticket checking staff. <br/><br/>The direction came, following death of a passenger from a train while allegedly being chased by an RPF squad for travelling without ticket. <br/><br/>Mr Kumar said, the RPF personnel will not be involved in ticket checking drives and chasing passengers for this purpose on moving trains and platforms. He said, it may create panic amongst passengers leading to serious accidents. <br/><br/>He also said that in case of violation of this rule, supervisory officers will be held liable for any mishap.
