In Assam, most popular harvest festival, the Rongali Bihu has been celebrated across the State with great pomp and gaiety. <br/><br/>The week-long festival marks the beginning of the Assamese New Year -‘Bohaag’. <br/><br/>AIR Guwahati correspondent Ramani Kanta Sharma reports that this is an occasion where the people from all communities assimilate together irrespective of caste and creed in the open fields for all-round merry-making by exhibiting impressive ‘Bihu Husori’ dance and rich traditional culture. <br/><br/>People also exchange greetings and gifts among the near and dear ones as a part of the Rongali Bihu festival. <br/><br/>Baisakhi melas are being organized across the State to exhibit the local products. <br/>
