Brazilian football legend Ronaldo has decided to retire, Brazilian media reports. The 34-year-old star told the media in Sao Paulo that he wanted to continue but he can not do it any more. It is the body that is hurting him. He said the head wants to go on, but the body can not take any more. Ronaldo had already said of retiring at the end of this year, but a succession of injuries have pushed the date forward.The Copa trophy, South America's most prestigious club tournament and equivalent to Europe's Champions League trophy, is the only one Ronaldo have not won in his spectacular career. Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. He picked up a string of honours, including the FIFA Player of the Year three times. His career took him to some of Europe's top clubs, including FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in Spain, and Inter Milan and AC Milan in Italy.In 2008 Ronaldo was the centre of controversy when he was caught in the middle of a drugs and sex scandal. And in December he admitted to being the father of a five-year-old boy born in Japan and living in Singapore, following the result of a DNA test. The striker has already expressed an interest in one day becoming chairman of Corinthians.
